Did you enjoy the recap stories so far? I hope you did. Today I’m presenting my last summary to you. A summary of my most memorable moments from 2015. So much has happened in this year, I got to meet so many new people and got to share amazing moments with some of my dearest friends. I can only hope that 2016 can be evenly productive and memorable as 2015. One thing is for sure; I am ready for 2016 and can’t wait to show more mattgstyle.
But for now, here’s a list of my favorite moments from 2015!
First off, Pitti Uomo in Florence, been here twice this year but the first time had the biggest impression on me. The fair is huge; brands from all over the world are attending, big and small. At first, I wasn’t very at ease; I didn’t know whether I should approach brands and what I should say to them apart from the fact that I have a fashion blog. The thing is, Pitti is more than a fashion fair, it’s a getaway for all fashion lovers and people are eager to share their passion and vision about fashion with you. At the main square I got to meet a lot of very cool and inspiring people! People were sincerely interested in you and your story; it was very mesmerizing to experience this. Only 3 weeks and I get to go back!
Dubai is a city I won’t forget. I was mind blown by the grandeur and the bling of this city. Expensive cars waiting in lines at every corner of the street, skyscrapers almost reaching to space and entertainment in a size bigger than everywhere else in the world. Luckily I got to share all this entertainment with some great friends, carting on a huge circuit, water parks from another world and swimming with dolphins, things that are even better when you get to do them with friends! A city to return to, because Dubai just has too much to offer to do in one trip!
As a fashion blogger I am always thrilled when the fashion weeks start. It has always been a dream of me to attend them and to go to a runway show of some of the leading fashion houses. This year I was able to attend a couple of my first runway shows and it was great. But apart from the shows it was amazing to see the energy these fashion weeks bring to the city. I had never seen so many photographers fighting for the best shots or fashion icons steeling the show on the streets of Milan. The city was living in a faster pace and it gave me so much energy!
This summer the madness had returned to Belgium, more in particular to Tomorrowland. This festival is the showpiece of Belgium, a moment when all party people from all over the world are looking our small country. Tomorrowland means three days of hardcore partying and dancing on the best electronic beats. Hope to get tickets for next year, fingers crossed!
Summer had many great nights out with friends, I love them for supporting me with everything I do. Fooling around with them makes my day every time. They are just the perfect people to enjoy summer with and life in general.
The longest and furthest trip I have been on so far! As I told you already in my previous post my holiday to Thailand and Cambodia was so versatile making it the perfect mix for the perfect holiday! The best part of it was that I got to meet some friends in Thailand that I know from Belgium. We discovered we would be in Thailand at the same time only few weeks before we left and immediately decided to go to the half moon party together. I was soooo cool!
Winning the H&M style award at the best dressed man awards definitely was a milestone in my career as a fashion blogger. To be recognized as one of the best dressed men of Belgium is personally a very important price. It was the cherry on top of a great year for me!
My helicopter flight in Val Thorens was also very memorable. Although not long ago, It was a complete surprise for me and it was so great! No words for this, it was just beautiful!
Well, looking back at these pictures I can really say 2015 was wonderful. It was sometimes chaotic and stressful but definitely very rewarding!
Thanks for reading my friends.
Big love from MattG!
