My dear readers,
I’m back in Belgium, back in the rush of everyday life, with loads of work to catch up on! However, I have great memories of my trip to Thailand and Cambodia and I feel completely reenergized to get back to work!
As you have seen on my social media channels, I’ve had an amazing trip with many different layers of unique experiences. However, if I think back to my holiday my mind immediately wanders back to the flood of luxury and hospitality we experienced during our stay at Anantara Rasananda Villa Resort & Spa on the island of Koh Phangan.
I feel really honored that we were able to visit this hotel and I am still amazed by the incredible service and location of this piece of paradise! Really, I have never seen such a gorgeous landscape; from my seat I could admire the horizon of the sea and take zillions of pictures of the sea’s turquoise color! Apart from being located on a paradise island, the resort itself makes you feel like you are strolling in an elegant jungle of palm trees with private villas and suites along the way. Privacy and a carefree feeling are two of the main pillars of Anantara, something that you experience immediately upon arrival at the resort.
No worries about your bags, checking in or passport controls, the staff of Anantara releases you from this burden and welcomes you in their beautiful lounge; complete with a floral welcome drink and a kind introduction on how things work on the resort. Afterwards a personal guide shows you to your villa and shows you how everything works. About the villas: WONDERFUL, high ceilings, warm wooden interior, a private pool and every little thing you need all in one place. At Anantara they know how to anticipate to all of your needs. And did I mention the view from your private balcony? This is unbelievable, wish I could wake up to this every single day of my life.
I can’t give the staff enough credit; everyone is evenly friendly, helpful and professional, they even address you by your name once you first arrive. It personally made me feel very accepted and welcomed.
We stayed in Anantara for 3 nights and every evening we had a lovely dinner that only got better each day. The best part of the restaurant is that you can enjoy every meal with your feet in the sands under peaceful palm trees and with a great view of the sea! Furthermore, the menu is prepared in a lovely manner, I am a huge fan of fusion kitchens, and the chef really knows how to pick the best parts of every different cuisine and bring them together in a unique way. It was simply exquisite how these fusion inspired dishes were topped off with a Thai trademarking highlight. We also had the pleasure of enjoying a cooking class from the chef and sous-chef themselves. They taught us the basics of Thai cuisine and showed us how easy it can be to do it ourselves. Of course, the “cherry on top” of our stay was the “dine by design” which we were offered. This was truly mesmerizing and being there was almost like being in a fairy-tale, it was set as a private candlelit table by the beach with lovely surroundings, perfect service and delicious food. This is definitely something I will never forget.
No review of this resort would be complete without talking about the spa area. This is a unique part of this resort; the reception desk is located at the foot of a mountain in the middle of a lovely pond. The entire area is set upon a cliff with private rooms climbing from the foot of the mountain. The top floor is really impressive with a yoga platform overlooking the complete grounds and a 200-year-old tree guarding this platform making this area truly spiritual. Next to this impressive location they offer a great variety of spa treatments and the massage we enjoyed was flawless, I felt reborn afterwards and the setting only enhanced this feeling.
Since we were so blown away by our lovely stay it is really hard to give any negative remarks on Anantara Rasananda Villa Resort and Spa. This resort is definitely the best hotel on the island and is a unique experience worldwide. Although it might be a pricey, you really get great value for your money and I strongly recommend it, it’s a once in a lifetime experience and the perfect destination for honeymoon sweethearts to experience pure relaxation and romance. I believe I found paradise and it is called Anantara Rasananda Villa Resort and Spa Koh Phangan!
Thanks again to every member of this resort for being so welcoming and kind, our stay couldn’t have been better!
