First day in Langkawi was super fun. We were warmly welcomed by the team of The Datai on Saturday evening, which was very pleasant after a stressful flight…
I Had to top up 43 euros for my suitcase because apparently there was a miscommunication on how meany kilo’s we could take because of a 3rd party booking, despite the fact we booked sufficient weight!
(Damn you AirAsia!).
Luckily by arrival we got a refreshing cold tea based on Lemongrass, followed by a glass of Champagne. The perfect way to start our holiday here at The Datai Langkawi.
Afterwards we went straight to bed after a quick introduction about the resort by the kind lady at the reception.
The first day at The Datai I was super stoked because they had a whole itinerary planned for us. To kick off, we went for a boat tour through the Mangroves of Langkawi. The in-house-guide of The Datai was waiting for us in the lobby to pick us up and go to the harbour. We went on board and were guided through the mangroves with our personal captain. Our guide was super friendly and learned us a lot about the different species of mangroves and the history of the island, all while having a big smile on his face. You could feel his enthusiasm radiate while he was telling his story and we were impressed by his knowledge and experience.
Apart from the heat that day, we had a very educational experience!
Afterwards we went back to the hotel to have a lunch.
