One of the things I certainly wanted to do is MAAT. The new Art Museum build at the riverside in front of the red famous (San Fransisco look a like-alike) bridge of Lisbon. We started our tour at the Belem tower, which is closed on Mondays btw, and guess when we were visiting it.. So no idea how it looks inside but for me it’s just a tower. More interesting was the Pasteis de Belem (R. Belém 84-92). It’s slightly different though in my opinion Belem still was a little bit better then the Pasteis de Natas. The pastry shop is in that area. It was pretty cloudy in the morning when we did our walk at the riverside but fortunately it cleared up in the afternoon.
I was hoping for a clear sky when we would approach the bridge but luck wasn’t on our side. Nevertheless, it’s still a strong image i believe (see last photo).
MAAT has only opened last October so I was happy to take some shots of it. We actually were the only people on it at the time. Usually students are sitting there eating their lunch or enjoying the view. That’s exactly what we did – at least untill it started dripping – to escape from the busy city center.
