Tuesday Morning we headed to Amsterdam for my Sperry Odyssey.
I was really excited because I had never been to Sail before!
The Sail is the largest public event in The Netherlands (with over a million tourists) it’s the largest free nautical event in the world, an excess of 600 ships navigate along the North Sea Canal before mooring in and around the IJhaven in Amsterdam.
Sperry took us to discover this event and took this experience to a whole other level.
Let’s start with the beginning, Tuesday night we we’re invited to a very fancy dinner in theme of the Sail after taking a taxi boat through the inner canals of Amsterdam city,
Sightseeing Amsterdam in this way is really recommended, it’s very pretty and idyllic! A lot of people always ask to people of Amsterdam what’s fun to do, but to be honest, the boat tours are so much fun and relaxing! Especially when they’re serving appetizers such as oysters and champagne! 🙂
Arriving at the dinner location was gorgeous, we were welcomed by a mermaid on a table offering us a shot of bloody marry! On our dinner tables we were presented with a box of Sperry shoes waiting for everyone to be opened, and if this wasn’t all crazy enough we were able to customize them by several tattoo artists who were happy to ink our ideas onto the shoes. I’ll post them very soon on my Instagram!
The dinner by itself was more then delicious; see the pictures!
After the dinner the boat brought our back to our hotel. Me and my best friend and also photographer that trip ended our night with Bang in one of the amazing nightclubs Amsterdam has to offer! 🙂
Wednesday morning they picked us up to head to the boats for SAIL.
I was fully prepared for this trip whit an whole sailor inspired outfit. Navy shorts, a striped shirt, a white sweater and my ever good-looking Sperry boat shoes of course!
I had such an amazing time on the boat, this was one of my best trips to Amsterdam ever, and I feel really honored that I was part of the Sail and being able to experience it not from shore like every tourist but from our very own Sperry BOAT! A Skûtsje boat, it was amazing to see all those gigantic tallships from very close and be part of all these sea people! 🙂
Finally, I’ve got to know so much amazing people who made this trip the complete package!
