Topman portrayed very dim and obscure colors with, lots of black, dark brown, green and blue. Also they played with many materials such as jeans, leather, velvet, satin and other thick fabrics. With black as a main tone it gave the whole collection a really gloomy twist, which I believe is definitely going to be a trend next winter! Skinny jeans are really disappearing in the Topman collection and they weren’t to only one who played with wide jeans and trousers for next winter.
Tiger Of Sweden
As expected Tiger of Sweden showed lots of suits, which again weren’t skinny or slim but with very wide trousers. Also the dark shades returned in this collection with again lots of blue, grey and black but also burgundy could not be overlooked.
Another hot item during many runway shows was the shearling jacket or coat, it came in many different cuts and styles but no doubt this warm lamb wool item will be very popular next fall/winter.
Ponchos are not gone yet, YMC is bringing it back again and loves to play with shearling as well! Dark shades ruled the runway again with black as the leader! Elegant and casual silhouettes that’s what Fall Winter is all about for YMC.
Coach showed us a collection with loads of Fur in a dark blue industrial inspired venue!
Fur coats, shearlings (definitely the winner of the most shearlings in their collection), wide trousers and, funny printed sweaters. This in marine blue and with lots of leather as well, but of course it is Coach. Not to forget, they also showed some big oversized winter jackets.
Lou Dalton was showing us some of their favorite teddy bear looks, again with loose and elegant trousers, marine blue and many tartan prints. Terrestrial brown is the main color for fall winter if it is up to Lou Dalton.
Typical autumn color patterns in warm red, rich blue in a typical combination with brown. Oliver Spencer likes to play with big patterns of stripes, squares and other shapes and structures. Furthermore they showed some very elegant long coats with nice detailed patterns in soft colors such as grey.
I really liked the collection of Casely Hayford. The brand showed us some wonderful prints, catchy colored silhouettes combined with elegant neutral pieces to balance the total outfit. Spring and summer colors for Autumn/Winter are pretty cool and the extra long parka and Chinese inspired trousers are putting it all together.
Gallant, natural colors for J.W Anderson, which I love! Also black and earth tones are present in the AW16 collection. Funny Prints and Long tops were the main eye catchers from the catwalk.
James Long is bringing loads of patch work, we have already seen this trend before in the nillies and it’s coming back, lots of patch work on different materials and with many different colors. Prints on Prints and again shearling. The inside out shearling was definitely one of my favorites and on top of my wishlist!
Christopher Raeburn also bringing Khaki Green, the military color. We’re also seeing the long or oversized tops and long scarfs. A different interpretation to shearling in some of the Jackets brings a whole new perception about this kind of jackets.
Khaki again, Lose trousers, high waists and lots of different fabrics is what we could see in the AW16 collection of Richard James. Turtle necks were higher and more intense and velvet for the holidays will never disappear. Turquoise blue is a new winter color. Definitely one of my favorite collections and easy to translate to ready to wear collections!
Dark, very obscure Sarah Burton goes very gloomy but still dainty with the butterflies, flowers or graceful patterns in lustrous fabrics. The camel coat is to die for, and completely wish listed. What we see here is that it’s not all wide trousers; slim fitted suits are still in for Alexander McQueen although we did see some of wide trousers in the AW16 collection of Alexander McQueen.
Jeremy Scott is bringing it all back to live, wonderful intense flashy colors, which looked sketched due the dark shades and intense lines created on the garments. Prints together with very colorful items combined with black and everything, very Moschino!
KTZ, well we saw the patchwork before in different collection. Well KTZ is following this trend and I must say I love it! The 00’s trend combined
with a lot of stripes and patterns is one of the key items of the AW16 KTZ collection, the baseball inspired collections came with lots of red, typical British colors and and other British elements were coming back.
New colors in the collection of Xander Zhou, purple, deep mauve and bold color combinations, which are very cool! Lots of futuristic elements and velvet all over the place!
Cold and futuristic are also the key elements for Katie Early, very
impressive print work but also clean, simple yet sophisticated print work. Different cuts and lots of different fabrics; A wide collection and not to forget, also the shearling is present!
Christopher bailey plays with dark and typical British shades, which make every Burberry look complete. The iconic trench reinvented by Burberry in lots of different ways, in tartan and many other shades, colors and sizes. A tartan accessory finishes that typical Burberry look which I just Love! Bomber jacket are super trendy and Christopher Bailey likes to use them in the typical but dark shades. Loose trousers and elegant silhouettes, this is what Burberry is all about with. I should also not forget to mention fur because also Burberry is coming with different furry items in AW16.
My Eye-catchers aka pretty much my wish list.
So finally I will present you a real round up from the main trends I’ve seen during my 3 days at LC:M.
Colors: Next winter it’s all about Dark colors: black, blue and grey. Moreover a lot of khaki and warm autumn colors such as brown, red, blue and also soft earth tones!
Black (Alexander McQueen) – Khaki (Astrid Andersen) – Warm Autumn (Oliver Spencer) Natural colors (Agi & Sam)
Trends: lots of new but also old trends are coming back!
Wide jeans, say bye to the skinny’s, loose trousers and high waists. Overside tops and long tops and also big patch work as seen in the
00’s. Furthermore I saw some funny Prints, very long coats, lots of fur and not to forget one of my favorites the shearling trend.
