The city of tulips! With spring coming soon you might want to plan a little trip somewhere. Well, if you haven’t been to Amsterdam yet, maybe it is finally the time to plan a trip to the capital of The Netherlands.
Amsterdam is perfect for a weekend getaway or midweek adventure. However, if you like to go out for a party I suggest you go during the weekend. Amsterdam has a great nightlife you shouldn’t miss out from. I’ve been to Amsterdam several times already and each time I appreciate it even more. It’s about 3 hours driving for me so I think it is too far for a day trip but perfect for a sleep over. The city is so cozy yet so vivid, it really has a unique atmosphere! Since, I had already been there several times I only planned a very short trip this time for just one night.
When in Amsterdam I enjoy shopping over there, strolling around in the narrow streets or parks and in love its great variety over restaurants and coffee bars. This time I went shopping in their main (maybe a bit touristic) shopping area, but Amsterdam also bursts with cool concept stores and trendy shops. In the night we went out around the Leidense plein, you have many great dance clubs and bars over there. After partying until early in the morning I was happy to arrive back in our hotel.
We were so lucky to stay in the INK hotel right in the heart of Amsterdam, apart from its perfect location this hotel offers great service, modern rooms and for a great price. Funny fact about every hotel of the MGallery Collection by Sofitel is that each hotel has a certain theme throughout its hotel. The theme at INK hotel, the name already spoils it a bit, is newspaper printing. The building was formerly a newspaper office of the (Dutch) TIME. The whole hotel is in theme and looks like a kind of press room with nice decorations which bring you back in the time when newspaper’s where at its peak of vibrancy.
Also this summer we want to go back to Amsterdam. I am even planning to go for a longer time to write a little guide of where to eat, what to do and where to party, … Well where to party I already know a thing or two.
Thanks for reading my friends!
