Over the past few months, Instagram has agreed to address online bullying with strict measures, introducing a feature able to prevent harassment across the e-platform. The latest app update wasn’t exclusively designated to cut off just the bullying aspect, but it was purposefully done to create a message of empowerment and strength to victims of such events, now able to stand and fight for themselves.

As the platform carries on utilising AI to monitor bullying and harmful acts, the new feature alarms users when their comments, prior to being posted, may be considered offensive. Smart move, right? This gives people a chance to re-read their comments and, if needs be, edit them.

A recent statement saw Head of Instagram Adam Mosseri, remarking the following: “It’s our responsibility to create a safe environment on Instagram. This has been an important priority for us for some time, and we are continuing to invest in better understanding and tackling this problem.”

Hands up for another incredibly-progressive move by the platform, helping towards positive advancement of social media experiences and promoting refined tactical methods of online wellbeing to rally inappropriate stances.
