Khalid Al Qasimi, Founder Of Eponymous Fashion Label QASIMI Dies In London Aged 39

The son of the ruler of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates has died in London, officials have announced.

Sheikh Khalid bin Sultan Al Qasimi died on Monday July 1st. London police alleged his death as unexplained. The 39-year-old designer abutted a career as an eminent designer across the fashion industry, showcasing collections both in London and Paris Fashion Week. The father, Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, reigned Sharjah’s emirate ever since 1972.

He expressed his grief over Instagram on Tuesday July 2nd.

A statement provided by the label classified the designer’s death as “unexpected”, though, no further information was provided. A post-mortem probation was also conducted on Tuesday July 2nd but still resulted irresolute, leaving a breach for further tests, the police statement added.

Graduated from Central Saint Martins School of Art, he released his first collections dating back to 2008. The father remarked he’d been “praised for his tenacious yet sensitive exploration of socio-political issues, particularly those pertaining to the middle east ad its sometimes strained relationship with the west.”
