This season, the Grenfell chose to inspire its tailoring on the coastal setting, enriched by a summertime tonal warmth: yachting was the prevailing theme for the Spring/Summer 2019 collection. The apparel takes the form of colour blocked, water repellent, multi pocketing sailor’s jackets. Some of the pieces feature elastic drawstring cords, analogous to sailing ropes.
Since its founding in 1923, Grenfell has been undistinguishably related to some of the greatest events ever witnessed in the U. K.’s textile sector. Crafted in the East ends of London and owning an utterly notable British heritage, each piece is known for its timeless yet chic resilience and irresistible qualities.
The Golfer Jacket, Grenfell’s most iconic style, came in the classic yachting colours such as sail red, bone white, royal blue and pale pink.
The classic Naval Pea Coat was re-imagined as a parka in a lightweight Storm System wool with a breathable waterproof membrane, trimmed with tonal anchor metal buttons and large sail eyelets. The iconic overhead Cagoule was made in poncho proportions from a coated oil skin type cotton in sou’wester yellow.
Although the collection was given a sailing makeover, the styles maintained an adaptability for many of our outdoors pursuits or simply for the stylish urban consumer.
